The world of work is changing. On one hand, we have incredibly high levels of worker disengagement and there are dire predictions that up to 50% of the jobs in the United States are at risk of automation in the next two decades. But on the other hand we have new companies creating value faster than at any point in human history, and we can feel the potential. What do these changes mean for the future of work?
Interesting partnerships make interesting stories. PopTech was commissioned by Microsoft to understand the changes happening in the world of work. The project began as a film on the future of work, featuring interviews with experts on the subject from around the world. We grew the project into a series of 8 shorts that will be shown at events across the country starting this spring. This video is the first in the series.
The future of work is an enormous subject area, so after initially conducting general interviews with subject matter experts, we narrowed the focus to eight subject areas, and then tied it all together with the notion of a journey across the globe to explore the issue at hand.
